I hate to cross post but the third gen forum never moves, so I asked for it to be locked and I need the information asap.
I am pulling the motor on a 1997 Grand am with a 2.4 and auto trans. I have only done 1 auto 2.4 engine swap (other 4 were sticks) and it had a back mount under the exaust manifold with two bolts. I was looking on the GA and I couldnt find it, is it different on a 1997 as opposed to a 2000 Cav? Need help I want this thing out tomorrow so I can sell the damn thing.

A 1997 Grand AM has an engine to trans brace that should look like this:
I have never seen this mount you are referring to on a J. I have done motor swap on a 2001 Z24 auto it did not have it.
FU Tuning
Okay so it looks like I take off those two (I think 13mm bolts) and leave the mount on the engine and it should pull out easy. Looks to be that would be located by the passenger output shaft of the tranny.
John- On the 2000 Cavalier Z24 I did a few months ago there is a "mount" which connects the tranny to the back of the motor. I had no idea of this at the time so wasted a half an hour not knowing why the engine wouldnt budge with all the tranny bolts and torque converter bolts out.
thanks for the info.

as i posted in your original post in the correct fourm , lol
the grand am uses a 4t60 , not a 4t40
also it uses a vacuum modulator , so its not fully electronic
Well, I still need to know how it comes out, lol. If there is a diff thats okay I just need to know what that difference means for removal. Is that diagram above accurate? If so then it is similar to the cavs.
