what 2.2L engine internals should be changed?

Hey guys just wondered if anyone has any input. I have a 2003 chevy cavalir z24 and I want to get some decent hp without boost. I have an aem cold air in take on it and pace setter headers to the magnaflow exahust. My question is would forged aluminum pistons and new eagle connecting rods help with more hp. What about doing cams as well? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

The rods and pistons won't give you more horsepower but im pretty sure the cams will. The rods and pistons make your engine stronger which enables you to get parts that will make horsepower.

Wait so your saying that forged pistons and rods do nothig for horspower gains?

the weight of the rods and pistons will have an effect as well as the compression ratio.

there are alot of things you can do to make power but N/A it costs alot of money. balanced rods and pistons, the lighter the better, balance shaft delete, knife edge the crank, get the valvetrain, cams, and head done, full exhaust, full intake, ignition, somethign liek HPTuners that will let you bring the RPMS up into honda territory as well as a proper tune. All the bolt ons, light pullies, clucth and flywheel, LSD, motor mounts, suspension upgrades, and bushings ect.. will all help with launching the car. You could remove the power sterring, the A/C ect...

or you could do rods, pistons, and a proper turbo setup and still be faster hahahaha

btw IMO if your gonna go internal to the motor for a build at least do forged rods and pistons, at least this way you can spray the @!#$ out of it farther down the road once you realize you spend a ton of money for minimal gains.
