Sending unit Ohm readings ??

Quick question.....

im building a custom gauge cluster and i will be adding a fuel level gauge. I have a 1997 Z but i plan to run a plastic tank with the 00+ sending unit and a walbro pump. My question is this....

What is the ohm readings for full and empty for the 00+ sending units, autometer lists some 1998+ gms having like a 90-250 reading, while my 1997 and older should use a 0-90 reading.....

is 00+ the same as the 1997 or is it different ?

The 00+ has a higher resistance reading. Not sure on the exact #, But it sounds like 90-250 is correct.

IIRC the book for my 04 said 0-90.

Well I had to check, "E" should read 40-45 ohms, Full should read 207-250 ohms

phack........... thats exactly what i didnt want to hear.....

are you certain ? the sender i have is fromt an 01 alero, im told its the same, i have a 97 sender but the connector and hose are right pooched, i needed a new tank and pump any ways so i got the entire assembly, but in building my guage cluster autometer does not sell a guage that goes 40-200 or anything close, just the opposite pretty much...

just find another sender from a 97..it should all work..

even though if you do search, someone brought this up and it was stated that only pre95 senders were 0-90ohms while all 96+ were 40-250ohms..

well i have about $10 worth of gas in the car right now and i am reading over 1/2 tank.........

i need to know for sure, i have a 2000+ sender from an alero (same as the j-body sender) the guage i am going to buy is 0-90, i have to send it to autometer and they can modify it to work on the 40-250 but i need to ship it to them, pay 25 to have it modded, then shipping back to me...... i dont want to go through all this if i dont need to........

lost this thread and had to dig it back up...........ok, if thats straight from GM, then ill take your word and get the guage done, ill send it out to autometer asap and have them modify it to read the proper ohm....

thanks again for your reply...
