sig not found
serious replies, right now i have no car and no way to get to work.
Yeah lol, you think you can get an eco running in your 2.4 in less than a week when you dont even know what goes into an entier engine swap. Good luck
In the planning stage for an all American TRD Cavalier.
get a smashed up eco motor car and swap everything. Motor, Tranny, Wiring, Computer you know the main stuff.
Project Yellow Blur Is Under Way ! ! ! ! !
Motor, tranny, computer (must be for the transmission your using), wiring harness, upper motor mount, rad, rad hoses, clutch and flywheel. I think i covered everything.
I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'
i know the main stuff i was wondering what the little stuff is needed. if i have to get the whol car i will but if not i would rather not beacuse where i live we are under a city beautiful act and can't have junk in our yards.
as for z24ho yes i can do a swap in a week its called friends, no job and an ulimited supply of beer, and late nights in the garage. technically in the bill out books a swap should take as little as two days. if you have all the parts,
what i am trying to get from the org is a good list for all the parts
how many times must:

be said? honestly, thats going to be the only way to do it right, is to have the donor car sitting right next to the one getting the parts.

im confused either your friends have no job or you have no job and best bet is to buy a whole smashed up car and start swapping
i have no job. which actually sucks. i lost my job thursday and friday my car broke down and shelled the head. so to fix it i was quoted 1600 to swap, 2400 to fix and 3400 to replace. so the swap is looking to be my cheapest option and me being out of work and still in college this really sucks.
other parts from what i listed needed are the alt (not 100% sure but i got one anyway), serpentine belt, a/c compressor, starter, coil pack, spark plugs. I believe thats it. pm PJ, hes done the swap and would have an exact 100% list. I am doing the swap as soon as winter is gone and I got my list from him.

actually you dont need new spark plugs, but it wouldnt be a bad idea

lol okay so your doing the work yourself, yet you were quoted prices for this
gaurentee you that no shop would be cheaper to put in a differnet motor, then to replace your stock motor... that just doesn't make sence.
basicly you NEED to search, since its been on here for a long time and postes many many times, including in this thread.. the easiest way is with a donor car.
i was quoted prices because it is sitting in a shop right. i will do the work to be cheaper, on my part.
if you got a 2200 at the junkers, it would be cheapest, basicly buy the motor, take blown one out, put new in. but of course its still slow as hell lol.

Here is my advice, go out and buy a cheap $500 beater car. Use this vehicule to find yourself a new job. While your Cav sits, and you work, you will be able to save up the money used to buy the beater car, also save money for the eco swap. While saving this money, you will have the time to read and understand the Eco swap, and also find all the parts you need to successfully do the swap. This also eliminates the rush, a rush job isn't a good job.
well $600 bucks bought a new 2200 with 6k miles, so that is getting put in. the eco sits in a safe place so the eco might take place this summer. but atleast the car will be drivable till then.
