2200's leans out while rpms go down
Monday, February 05, 2007 10:36 PM
I heard a rumor that the 2200 leans out while the rpms are dropping. Can anybody actually confirm this or is it not true?

I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'

as far as i know, all engines that are fuel injected lean out while revs drop.

Isn't it called decelleration de-enrichment or something like that? I think if you check out the tuning fourm, there is a fule and/or spark map for decelleration.

it is normal, and probably won't hurt anything if thats what your worried about. my old boosted 2200 would run rich under boost, then let off and run 17:1 afr while the rpms drop...car ran strong for a long time until the starter went out

not all of the GM's had DCOE enabled from the factory, it was sort of a mix and match thing, certain cars got it and others didn't. I believe most of the manuals got it though. Its also a very good fuel saving feature.

Its called DFCO and all J's at least from 97 up had it. Deceleration Fuel Cut Off.
