2.2L OHV cylinder bore

I'm just wondering if it is possible to bore my cylinders from a 2.2L to a 2.4L without craking the cylinders later on after driving it for a while. any feed back is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. (the eco swap is just too much work, so it's either this, or swappin in a 2000 2.4L from a GT)

No you can not bore the 2.2L OHV that far. The stock bore is 3.503", the most you can bore it over to is 3.542"(+1mm), only if you have the cylinder walls sonic tested for proper cylinder wall thickness.

ahh crap..thanks for the info. so i guess i'll be looking for a 2.4L then. do you happen to know if it is easier then swapping in an ecotec? Cuz i read up on the eco and they are a complete b!tch to swap over since i have a pre 2000 J-body. for the 2.4 it's just the engine, wiring harnes, motor mounts, and a few other odds and ends correct?
