this guy is selling his eagle talon tsi engine for 150 dollars.
i was gonna buy it and rebuild it with forged rods and all that good junk
i was wondering if you can fit it in a sunfire
i have a 97 sunfire se 2.2 ohv
and its a 96 eagle talon 4g63t engine
Fit? Yes. But you'd have to custom make everything... including rewiring the whole f'n car... so it would probably cost you close to $10,000 to actually do it.
Worth it? Hell no.
There's a guy local to me who stuffed a ITR motor into his Cavalier... he gave up after spending thousands on it...
you could get any engine into any car if you have the money
swap in a 2.2 ecotec.

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
You don't want that motor, it's a 7-bolt block, you'd want a 6-bolt (older). As said, not worth it, an eco can make more than you'll ever be able to put down.

better a delay than a disaster.
aight so if i get that ecotec would it be an easy install or am i gonna have to change alot of @!#$ around
well with any engine swap you have to change stuff. the easyiest swap to do is swapping in the same engine you have.
a 2.4 twin cam would probaly be easier since it came in jbodys of that year.
but people have swapped in the 2.2 ecotec. the info is on JBO. just got to go look for it

If we're thinking of the same person, he's a tool of all tools... and proved it on the quality of one of his builds... turbo header of normal aluminized exhaust pipe? Bahahhaa!

Built, bottled, ready for 11s. 14.446@93.74mph, 1.848 60' N/A.
It's already been done with a 6-bolt in a Beretta. Find that guy, and you'll get your answers. Is it worth it? Not really. It'll have a LOT of power potential but you can achive the same for less with an Eco. Hell, the money you'd spend on jsut the swap of a 4G would be enough to build the crap out of what you have already.
there is some guy on car domain with a mcD's 2nd gen with a eclipse motor
for the work your better off putting a LS7 in a cav
I dont think an eco would put down the 210hp and 214 torque like the 4g. To get the eco to that power it might cost almost as much as the swap if done yourself. But if you want more of a bolt on then thats def. not a good project. I say you just pay $4,000 for an AWD DSM. Thats alot less work and you still use the engine. Talon, laser and eclipse (dsm) all have that motor. But like he said if you did anything with those engines the 1g 6-bolt is less likley to get crankwalk and supports somewere around 450 hp stock internals. 2nd gen is only about 350hp.
not stock the eco wont. but i remember a few JBO members putting down 12 second passes with a hahn turbo and stock internals

a eco with the gm s/c will do it
and you wont get laughed at as hard for it either
if you want a eclipse motor , get a dam eclipse
Talons are hot and fast, just buy one!
aight how much is a eco?
like 3 grand?
go to your local yard... i'm sure you could find one for less than a grand... maybe 1500 tops... depends on the year and mileage on it. But yea.. definately do either the twin cam or eco swap, you'll pat yourself on the back later and be much happier. Look at Skwirl, he swapped in an eco into his cav and now has the fastest n/a cav on the org, lol...

Best ET to Date: 14.251 @ 98.51 mph. 13's or Bust Baby!
aight im probably gonna do that then
If you can't find an Eco for under a grand let me know. I get them really cheap becasue I buy a decent amount of them from a local yard, so even with shipping I'm sure I could set you up for cheaper then that.
