ordering exhaust piping from jegs, what all i need from those who have done it

Well looks like im forced to order exhaust bends and such from jegs since the only mandrel bender shops around either have at least a month waiting list or arent doing exhaust at the moment. I know darkstars for one on here has ordered exhaust bends and put together his own setup and was wondering roughly what all do i need and how much did it end up cositng. Shouldnt be no more than $100 or so beings i seen 4ft straight for like $12 for 2.5 which is what im going with. Thanks.

Why only 2.5? I thought boost loved open exhaust. I know turbo's do. I once had a turbo dodge spirit, and she loved big exhaust.

Try ebay, thats where I got one of my hard to find 3" 180 degree bends.

what? im asking for some help on what all bends i need before i order the wrong bends, 2.5 not 3". Plus the sc is on the intake side so bigger exhaust such as 3" doesnt really benifit it as much unless your running high compression which i am not.

When I did mine, all I used was one J-bend and one U-bend. I got two of each when I ordered my parts, not knowing what I was going to need. The J & U-bends have diferent radius bends, so I could work with the most simmular radius as the stock bends were. The rest of my system is the cat, a 35" Magnum Glasspack , the muffler and a turndown(that's now rusty and needs replacing!). You may need two of the tighter radius bends, because the larger diameter tube usually have wider radius bends.

Send Darkstars a PM, i love how his exhaust sounds and i think he actually got it off ebay. It would be best to ask him about his since it was done not too long ago.

huh? where did you get that info from?

Like I said, try ebay for U and J bends and even straight pipe.. Measure what you need, then order.. Youll have to do the same thing if you order from Jegs or any other place.

check out ebay store mandrel bending solutions, they have a good selection and good prices, from the header its straight, then there is a 90 after the cat then another 90 so you could use a U bend and cut it in half then you need something to clear the axle + some straight to fill the gaps, just use ur exhaust and copy the bends

thanks guys.

High compression loves bigger exhaust such as 3". I am running 9:0 CR with thinner HG which would make alittle more than 9:0 CR. Since the s/c is on my intake side of the motor low compression and big exhaust like 3" wouldnt benifit me at all, thats why im going with 2.5".

Why not just buy a pre-bent exhaust system?

because to my knowledge all thats out there is either the pacesetter painted setup or a couple fart cans and i'd rather not have a fart can but may have to do so. Also there really isnt any pre-made 2.5" setups out there that i know of.
