New here so, had my 2.4 for over a year now, and i wanna bang another 20-30 fwhp outta it.. and i read up ona few alero sites... saw 2.3HO intake and 56mm HO TB is a good starting point on the LD9 engine... and somone recommended Unorthadox Pulleys and such to squeeze out a few extra ponies... i have also read up a little on those "Secret Cams" dun quite understand but im not lookin to go big just for a few extra ponies... so if anyone can direct me to a junkyard site or a ebay ad where i can find the Intake and TB that would be great

idk where ur from so check the local yards the mani and tb come by pretty cheap and check the classifieds for them as well, i have the adaptor flange for the swap for sale as well as the secret exhaust cam pm if interested
be careful in the yards sometimes theyll try and jip you and sell you a LO..make sure you know what your looking for.

Truth be known the mani and TB won't add much HP. If anything it moves the power band up higher and that's it. There actually a loss of torque at the bottom end. Sounds great though and is a good basis for other performance mods. The cams are a better HP booster from what I've read.

I just installed the H.O TB on my stock ld9 intake manifold. I had to mod the throttle cable bracket to get it to fit. Its up and running now.... and yes you can tell the difference! Much more power between 3k-redline.... around 5-6k is the best. Pulls much hard on shifts. Good mod. Go for it!!! Im going to do the h.o intake manifold later once I find one.

i understand the HO intake and TB come off Grand ams Berretas and Achievas, are all of them off these cars HOs up to 95?
the tb can be from and 2.3 quad 92-95. The intake amni has to come off a 2.3l quad... some Lo had the HO but if you can tell the difference your better off making sure its off a Ho motor.... I might be wrong but the TB is from any 2.3 quad.
cool... umm any tips to tell a HO from a LO mani? and the tb you said is the same pretty much? any one clarify this>?
the HO mani will have a large plenum that is the same size, the LO tapers down at the end. (there are pictures in the performance sticky or somewhere else, too tired to look right now)
All 2.3 TBs are the same size (56mm) no matter what, just make sure you get a 92+ TB, they look EXACTLY like the 2.4L t.b just a bigger butterfly. Below 92 they have the brake booster vaccuum fitting pointing to the side, the 92+ have it facing up like the 2.4L. Trust me below 92 you are wasting your money, I can tell you that from experiance.
