Ok, so it's finally done. For those of you I haven't already talked to this about, I bought a 2.2 eco from an 05 Cobalt that had 1,100 miles on it (from RK Sport's ebay store). I already have an 04 cav with the gmpp s/c w/ intercooler hooked up. But before putting the new engine in, some new goodies came in (sorry for the quality of some of the pics)...

Patriot Stage II Head
Comp Cams Blower Grind

Eagle Rods
Cometic Head Gasket
ARP Head Studs
I also got Wiseco 10:1 with .020" overbore pistons but I don't have a picture of them when I got them in.

TurboTech Racing Upper Motor Mount
RK Sport Lower Motor Mount
and some pictures from the shop...
And here's a couple of screenshots of HP Tuners logs...
before...
and after...
I can really tell a difference in how it runs. I can tell it really wants to take off especially top end. Actually, it's revving so quick, it's having trouble shifting at times, as you can kind of see with the 1-2 shift on the after pic. Surprisingly, I'm actually seeing higher boost numbers, too. Instead of maxing about 10 to 11 psi (before swap w/ intercooler), now it's maxing about 13 to 14 psi (after swap w/ intercooler).
When I first started up the car after the new engine was in, everything felt completely different, it's hard to explain, but I can tell it's just begging to have a smaller pulley on the s/c and higher rev limits for starters.
Also, I want to say thanks to everyone who helped me when I had questions, Shifted, Hypsy and TVR, 97 trd, Turbo Tech Racing, and CarCustoms. Thanks
i was wondering how long this post would take you , lol
Looks great!

Very nice,
What cam grind from comp did you go with? In both of your logs from HP it looks as if you are only revving to 5700rpm. If that's the case you'll make more power higher up because the blower cams probably hold power to and peak at 7k rpm. I'm surprised you didn't loose boost as the engine flows more air so there should be less resistance. I'm a lil confused on how you gained pressure, unless you also swapped to a fairly smaller pulley after the build.
Any plans to get dyno #'s or 1/4 mile times anytime soon?

Looks nice. How many miles are on it?

I'm going to guess with the experience gained building his, they're looking to see if there is good business building others, going by this quote from the auction-

I went with the blower grind from comp cams. For those HP tuners screenshots, they're a little blurry so it's hard to tell what it revs too, but between 1st and 2nd it was about 6500, and between 2nd and 3rd like 6350. Yeah I'm really wanting to get the rev limiter raised up, that's on my to-do list hopefully soon.
As far as the boost levels, I'm confused too, I still have the stock pulley. Can you think of any other factors that could have caused the increase?
I'm hoping to get dyno #'s and some track times soon, but I'm not sure exactly when, maybe early March I'm hoping.

Exactly, the shop is wanting to see if there's any other interest out there for a rebuild like that. I would recommend them, they were really helpful and nice through the process and really seemed to know what they were doing. And so far everything's running great, worth checking into if anyone's looking for a rebuild. I'm sure they could do a different type of build if you wanted them to also, they build race engines all the time.
Where in illinois are they located?

Mt. Olive, it's right off Interstate 55 about 44 miles from St. Louis
Why is it that your TPS is not at 100%??? I am assuming your foot was to the floor because the line is perfectly straight..

That's a good question, but that's what it always does, it has 86% max and 9% when I let off completely. I've heard it does this on other ecos too. Not sure why it does that, but when I put my foot to the floor and have a friend check the tb, it's wide open
not sure what the % + is concidered WOT, but WOT will change your fuel trim and likely timing abit... this is something that should be looked into further... maybe pull the TPS sensor off (2 screws) and manually move it and see what numbers you get.. just a thought.
