I am was hoping someone could tell me which header is better for the ecotec and also what the diff is between a 4-2-1 header and a 4-1 header. Is the 4-2-1 better for low end?
4-1 header goes from 4 pipes coming out of the head and they all meet and come together in 1 spot to make 1 pipe, hence the 4-1
4-2-1 header starts as the 4 pipes out of the head and then 2 cylinders connectinto 1 pipe and the other 2 cylinders connect into another pipe, which means you started off with 4 then went to 2, and those 2 come together into 1, which makes the 4-2-1
The 4-1 is more high rpm power and the 4-2-1 is more mid range power. But keep in mind on such low hp cars a header isn't gonna give you much of a power gain either way so just pick one.
