MPFI conversion ?s

ok, i have an 89 sunbird n/a TBI, that im converting to TBI, i think its the "EGR" (?) valve, thats in the picstures, i was wondering if they were the same for the TBI and MPFI versions, like will they bolt up the same, same gasket, same part, all that kinda stuff? and will those vacaum lines work with the MPFI setup? like are they run right? and also, the last thing, on the valve cover ("cam cover"), what are those little screens for? and does anyone know what theyre technically called? theyre where the i think PCV valve attaches, and some other line on the other end.. any help will be appriciated, thanks in advance

The screens are oil baffles and they keep oil from splashing up into the pcv hose. The EGR valve may swap from one manifold to another, but the easiest way to check part numbers is to use partsamerica.com and see if both vehicles use the same valve. I can't remember, but I *think* the pfi engine uses an electric control solenoid (small black part with two vacuum lines connected) in the egr line while the tbi engine does not. The best plan is to get vacuum diagrams for both vehicles. Sometimes that stuff is available on autozone's web page under "vehicle specific information" or something like that.
