scrap value.. i work at a dealership and if the catalyst is in tact you can get $100 or more at the scrap yard.
There is a new filter in the exhaust for diesels that fetches $350 a piece as well.

Hmm i work at a scrap yard as an engineer and i sit around the marketing ppl and u cant get 100 for the catalyst...
its the guts inside. its platinum which equals big bucks
I know its all about the guts but i dont think that person will get $100 for it. It is a small cat compared to most and the most he could get out of it is $60. The scrap market does fluctuate and i guess he could be waiting for a spike but i dont see him ever getting what he paid for it.

I used the $100 figure since the dealership I work for does a LOT of fleet vehicle sales and maintenance, so we get the HUGE cats in which obviously fetch a higher scrap value.
