I already asked around about these throttle spacers on the Cobalt page, but I got mixed responses. Most seem to think these are a waste of money, but some have seen a few hp gain.
Air Raid makes one that has a distinct whistle sound when you punch it.
Supposedly, this creates two aids:
A little more space for air.
The venturis are supposed to swirl in air to do:
A) atomize the fuel better
B) raise the incoming air velocity
Some say it boosts the high end because there is a little more space for air and increase of intake velocity.
Others say it gives all parts of the RPM band a little boost albeit a small boost.
Has anyone tried one of these?
I like facts and not guesses.
*I read the old thread, and it did not help.*
Trying to find actual users of this product to say whether or not it did anything besides whistle.
a lot of people say they are junk. then again others say they "feel" a difference in power aka butt dyno
they are more helpful on cars with carburators
spacers can be drilled for use with nitrous so you dont have to drill your intake

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
the whole air swirling thing is meant for carbd cars. in MPFI aplications the TB is to far from the injectors for it to matter, the air will straighten out/unswirl long before it gets to the injectors. however, some cars have seen gains from then because they effectively increase intake manifold plenum volume. also, as stated above, they can be drilled n taped for spray.
however, be ready, this along with breather filters and a few other things arent considered "mods" by some of the snobs we have roaming this site, and you will get flamed for even mentioning them.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can somehow feel +2hp acceleration.
Ronin's right, just look at the air pathway. It's not straight by any stretch of the imagination, infact in a 2.4 specifically.. It gets pulled in downward through the throttle body, hits the bottom, and then goes back up through the runners. For these companies to be selling this mod as a magical power adder is just as scandalous as one of those Tornado intake inserts. It also seems like their intended carb based market slowed down or something so they're trying to pedal them to us.
Save your money, and get something useful.
