I bought a new header from a member on here and I didnt recieve any of the hardware that is supposed to come with it. Mainly the downpipe to header bolts. What can I use for these things? I was gonna get a new gasket and all anyway but I mainly want the bolts. what are your suggestions?

Go to your Local Home-D-pot and go in the fasteners section. Grab some grade 8 bolts and washers with nuts and your good to go. I think the ones on my pace setter are like 4inches long.....I might be wrong though. I havent been under the car since I put the clutch in and pulled the motor.
Good luck -Jeff
I didn't know if I needed the springs that came with them or not

lol I forgot about the springs..........I bet you could find something to work... just spend a little more time snoopin around at home depot
I dont want it to be half arsed I checked and OBX seems to have their website down.

Who did you purchase it from, they should be able to contact OBX and get you the hardware. We have had it happen with other brands (we dont carry OBX) and they will get it to the customer.

I didn't know if the pacesetter would work the same as the OBX?

pacesetter uses 3 1/2" long 3/8" bolts , so that might be close to yours
and the springs get in the "HELP" section at checker/autozone , or any auto parts store that has them
OK thanks for the help I appreciate it. Also the springs go on the down pipe correct?

yes, BEHIND the downpipe flange, dont put them between the 2 flanges, it causes a leak because it forces the two flanges apart under acceleration, so make sure you get some bolts long enough for the springs to go on the end of the bolts.
I just cut the "ball flange" off of my header and downpipe, just welded a flexpipe on and it works a LOT better than that "ball and socket" joint.
yeah I dont think that any exhaust shop around here would do that.

funny, that is what my exhaust shop INSISTED on, said that the ball flange would leak no matter what and the flexpipe would be better.
Ball and socket sucks but if your worried abotu leakage just put some high temp silicone in there...both my pacesettters never leaked..phil
will it make any difference if I were to chop the ball off and hook up the 2 flanges together?

When I purchased my OBX header from ebay- it didn't come with any bolts, it was new in box.
I went to the autoparts store and purchased the bolts w/ springs included.. Just take a measure so you get short enough bolts so you can actually make them tight.
I had a pair of 3.5" 3/8 bolts at my house. I just got the springs at advance auto when I ordered my gasket.

just use the ball socket....end of problem..
yeah I'm goin to for now. it seems like it was a lil oblonged like it had been beaten up a lil in the box hoping it will pull tight and not leak.

should I install the header today or wait for the upper mount to come in? I just want to make sure that it's not gonna damage the header.
