I've a 96 Z24 and would like to put in some mod. When I shop for parts, can I go for different model year? For example can I buy a header for 98 LD9? I see some parts from www.mantapart.com/ for 96-99 LD9. Where else I can look for parts? One last thing, did the jtuner turbo kit work on 96 LD9?

yes you can use parts from 96 to 99. you are limited to 99 because of engine changes namely they took the EGR off changing compression from 9.5:1 to 9.7:1 and they swapped from low impedance fuel injectors to high. I've only heard bad things about Mantapart and yes J-Tuner makes a turbo kit but if you go to their website you'll find they cut back and 5 people (at least was last time I checked) must order them before they will ship them out.

Now I've another question, what kind of mod/how possible to make 160-180 whp on a budget, say $800? I'm a mechanic and been modding my GP for years. So I'll do all the work. I'll be N/A for now and maybe turbo later. I heard alot about "Secret Cam" swap with 086 head. But that seems alot of work to do a 086 head swap. Also the exhaust manifold/header seems not much choice. And I've a 96 which is not supported by HPT. Any suggestion?
One more thing, I'm thinking about doing a complete 00-03 2.4L engine/tranny swap due to it has 96 harness, and it was crank but no start now......
. How hard to do this swap? I know the motor itself is good. It might be fuel or spark problem. Can I keep the motor and use 086 head, 00+ harness and 00+ tranny?
