are there any downfalls to having the filter here as opposed to in palce of the airbox?
sorry for the crappy cell pic
and i know its a crappy filter....but i didnt wanna buy a nice K&N in case this wasnt a good idea
i had mine like that for a while until i just bought a cai/wai. you should be fine.
More heat in that area. Did you remove the inlet bong? If you did the air is isolated from the engine compartment. The fender area air is cooler than the air going thru the radiator. You can put a straight 3" PCV pipe where the bong was located to the bottom of the fender to help get that clean air to the intake.
That is why most people use the longer intake tube to get cooler air. Cooler more dense air means better performance.
its not good, with it there all the hot air coming through the radiator is whats making its way to your filter, I would put the pipe back on and put the filter on that. But either way its not gonna hurt anything.
hey chris, sorry if i gave you the wrong answer. i honestly didn't think there was anything wrong with that location. i didn't think much heat would get to the filter to where it would be bad for it.
yea, i assumed the heat would be a factor. alright, thanks guys
