I've had them on mine for 2 years, no problems.

Are you using them the self-alighning or the standard tip rockers? Are they going in Your '97 Fire or the '98 Cavi? The motors are different, as for how they are mounted and whether or not you need the self-alighning tips. There is very little room for error when lashing these rocker arms, the lifters have tighter tolerances than any of the older motors.

There is a cr@??y picture of my rockers in my profile, under the Cavi's listing.

i have daflyinskwirl's original 2200 motor and after my boyfriend tore it apart he found that the push rods came out of their seats and actually made their own dents in the rocker on the exhaust side at some point while pj was still using the motor in the skwirl. im now trying to figure out if i can still use them and what id need to make them work. because the seats are still fine i just am not sure what needs to be done to them to make them work. so be careful lol. but he was told not to use higher lift rockers in the custom head but doesn't remember why so im stumped right now.

he also had to grind not only the valve cover, but part of the rocker itself where the valve spring sits.

That motor's biggest problem was the valve springs. Ditch those and everything will work fine.

Yes, on a 2200 head (1.610" height)...bad news.

Can you get a picture of yours? I don't know of anyone else who had problems with these...

Was the problem with the few threads holding the rocker before you set the valve lash? You may be at the top of the cam lobe, instead of the base of the lobe.

The lifters could have pumped up too while the original rocker arms were off.

Put up some pics of the studs installed, and a couple with the studs installed and the rockers sitting on them. I have those same rockers and studs, and had no problems installing them in the head.

Ive had em in one of my cavs for some time now and no problems at all. I actually have some really good install pics but they are on my other computer. If I can find the time I will post em up. Also anyone from the 2004 J-Body bash should have pictures of it as well because I had it all on display there. I know a lot of people took pics,

Whoa its wierd seeing pics of the N/A days. I really liked those roller rockers though. I have nice close up shots too but like I said I would have to hook up my other computer to retrieve em. Car has changed so much since then. Heres a link to the same engine bay but like a year after the bash in 04 had to dig up the archives for this one, lol! http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=40&i=91713&t=91051&p=1
