Replaced my exhaust with pacesetter header, 2.5 catless piping, to a 18 inch magnaflow muffler, and have now achieved the supreme rice sound! My question is, could I use a round body muffler in replace of the cat? Im having a hard time finding resonators, and heard glasspacks work, but temporarily. Any clues? I would like to have this exhaust as quiet as possible.
Try a Dynomax bullet race muffler...Its more like a resonator than a glasspack.
I was hoping to stick with magnaflow, but I will look into it. How big around can we fit in that section of the exhaust? And will this eliminate the raspiness?
Arent you throwing the CEL without the cat?

putting a cat back on cooks the rice and makes it go away. also, a thrush glasspack will do you good. seriously, go put your cat back on.

I have the biggest resonator Maganflow makes in a 2.5" inlet/outlet diameter. 22" body, 4" Round , 2.5" ID Satin Stainless Steel Resonator- It's brand new, I never installed it and my new project won't need it. $75.00 Shipped in the US.
The longest resonator I've found for youe 2.5" piping is the thrush glasspack.
They're like 28" long or something.
^^or like FstCav said, any of the magnaflow 4" round body 2.5" in/out mufflers work.

Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
It's a 22" body and 28" overall when you factor in the tube to weld pipe too. I'm assuming Thrush is the same way.
Ive got a 28 inch thrush glasspack but heard they only last a short while, thanks fast cav, I may be contacting you in the future. I was just wondering because on magnaflows website, it says the resonator part number...then I google the number, and it pulls up for just mufflers.
I'm going to be using a Dynomax 3" in/out bullet in place of the cat on my car.
2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.
