Secret Cam question (sorry)

OK, not to beat a dead dog to death but I'm going to be putting in JUST the exhaust cam of the secret cam swap. Would this pose any potential problems? I just really don't see a point in the intake cam since you have to machine for the power steering pump, and the amount of lift isn't a whole lot more than stock. But, I just don't want there to be any problem with running different durations and higher lift on only one cam, my mechanic buddy and I were both a little concerned with the valve overlap. Anyone who has done just the Exhaust cam please give a little imput.

you dont have to machine the intake camshaft if you get the right ones. The secret cams include an intake cam does have the hex for the power steering. Unless your getting the W41 then you do have to get the intake cam machined. If you are getting the right secret cams then you wouldnt have a problem with the just the exhaust cause I think the intake lift is not much of a difference as the Twin Cam. You might be looking at the wrong ones!!! The secret cams are NOT the High Output Cams!!!

GMR has got nothing on this

secret cam swap is the intake cam from a 1995 2.3 motor (has the cam pickup in it and the hex drive already) exhaust cam is from a LO 1990-1994

ok, no problem, but I already have the exhaust cam and I have to replace the cam tower gaskets due to an oil leak. So while I am in there I was gonna drop in the exhaust cam, I dont have time to order an intake cam nor do I have the money to afford one right now. So if I drop in that exhaust cam with the stock intake cam will it pose any problem?

nope, my car put down 151.5whp and a 149.9 wtq with a few mods and JUST the exhaust cam. it ran perfectly.

although, i suggest using the EXACT lifters that were used in the EXACT order with the secret cam you have, either that or go buy brand new lifters. some have had luck with re-using their stock lifters-they got lucky.

its such a PITA to get in there and fix shiit if need be, it really should be done right the first time.

Yup,

I'm reusing my stock lifters on the intake side after finding out the HO cam tower didn't match up correctly.
Granted, I don't think the car had over 45K miles on it at the time.
And like zyaaa said, same lifters in the same spots.
Still running strong today.
Both intake/exhaust cams are the LO profile, 200@.375
