hello
i have a 1997 cavalier 2.2 OHV LS 4 Speed Automatic
i want to swap a 2004 2.2 Ecotec cavalier Ls 5 speed manual.
i found a complete car that was in a accident
do you guys think it will work????????
thanks
Yes, it will absolutely work. but it will be a huge pain in the ass. You need to rewire your entire car to get it all to work with the ecotec ECU. You'll need to change out your instrument cluster and BCM also. and modify your dash to fit the new cluster. Don't forget that since the new BCM stores the mileage and the old cluster used to store it your gonna have to document the offical mileage before the swap or it would be odometer fraud...I have no idea what the procedure for making that all happen and staying legal is. Of course the automatic to manual conversion needs quite a bit of work in its self, but its all doable.
00+ cars have it so much easier. 99 and older, your pretty much screwed if you wanted it to be a simple swap.
And whyyyyyyyyy is this in the boost forum, exactly?
