O2 sensor at cat
Tuesday, May 22, 2007 4:28 PM
I'm trying to get my car to have a little more of a throaty exhaust...as much as i can from a 4 banger. i kno that at the cat there is an O2 sensor so there no knocking the glass pack out or taking it off all together, so is the best bet to jus swap it out for a high flow cat or leave the stock cat for now and take off the resinator. and are there any problems with taking the resinator off?

FOR @!#$ SAKE!!! there is no reason whatsoever to take your cat off your car. you're not running 20+ lbs of boost, you're in a country where it's a FEDERAL offense to remove it, and on a N/A car, you will not see any difference besides it sounding like ass. think every ricey ass honda you've ever heard. yeah, it'll sound like that AND be illegal.

.... fyi, back in the day walker and GM did i test and found that the cat did not affect the performance dramatically.

That said, I have 2.5 " exhaust from the header back. a resonator and a Dynomax muffler, no CEL.

If you're after a throatier sound (Throaty = deep sound?), why remove the resonator? The resonator would help with that.
