How can i merge the 1992-1993 Quad-4 2.3 L 185-190 hp and 160 ft·lbf (SCX W41) from the Olds Achieva in my LD9. How can I get the cams to fit and other stuff. I want the HIGH OUTPUT stuff NOT the LO stuff. Iam asking cause since i joined this forum i have learned so much about the LD9 and the 2.3 but still have not seen how to get the HO stuff on the LD9. Please help.....
GMR has got nothing on this
most of it bolts on

..i wouldnt put w41 cams on though..a bit aggresive

OKAY so what do u mean by a bit aggresive? Does the intake cam still have the hex to turn the power steering? And what bolts on should i consider to get from the W41

Cams should fit on a 2.4L head without any problems. You would need, however, the cam towers from a 90-94 quad or have your 2.4L lifter barrels bored out to 35mm.
but if you wanted them with a quad head, you will need pistons with a good dish or valve reliefs.

w41 cams only came with the pulley for the belt driven power steering of the quad 4. You can have the end machined for the hex if you'd like though.

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
Yeah, but when your valves are making love to you the top of the pistons...... Like Brian said...
I mean large lift, no so much clearness. Custom pistons are a must, if I remember correctly.
I would have the cams machined for the LD9 drive for the power steering.

HO cams will require this, as all LG0 engines had valve reliefs, due to the higher cam lift.
1989 Z24 Convertible - Dust Covered
2006 tC - Dust Covered, but driven more
they only have intake valve reliefs..but i wouldnt be looking at JUST w41 parts cus the only difference between w41 and a normal HO was the cams..everything else is the same

and of course a differently tuned computer.

which he doesnt need anyway
Wow thankz for the info guyz, and also does it matter if I get a LO intake manifold or HO intake manifold?
GMR has got nothing on this
You want a HO manifold, especially if you are going with more radical cams like the w41, so that you can fill up the plenum at higher RPMs.

dude ive tried it . its a total bitch and the gains aren't worth it but if you are really interested go to quad4forums.com, or maybe it's . net not sure, havent been there in a while
oh and you can only use the exhaust cam cause the w41 dosen't have the cam pos sensor on the intake like the ld9

Well for now I will just swap in the secret cams once I get a chance to go to the bone yard so is the HO intake manifold still okay for this application?
GMR has got nothing on this
.... if your going to do the work, atleast get HO exhaust cam and cam housing, and mod a 94 intake cam, (you have to do somthing about the CPS... 3 ways you can go with that.)
W41 cams are not that big...... Ive had biger.

Why don't you just swap out your LD9 for a W41 and run a stand alone like Megasquirts?
In the planning stage for an all American TRD Cavalier.

will that for the saturn work on the Alero, and what year and vehicle do I get the HO cams from? Also will have to add the hex to the intake cam for the power steering right? And I dont have enough funds right now to just swap to a W41 and get the tranny too.

For those who arent aware...
1. Machine the pickup on the cam itself = A lot of money and a good amount of time to have done.
2. Use a cam sync generator wrapped around the #4 spark plug to tell the ECM what the cam position is
3. Don't worry about the cam sync at all and just run straight batch fire as the earlier quads did anyways.

Yes
90-94
Yes...Unless you were to swap to the 2.3L power steering, then you just need the intake cam tower as well

okay well Iam going to the bone yard this weekend looking to get the secret cams and the 56mm throttle body. But what year and vehicle do I get the HO cams from? And is it okay to install the 2.3 Ho intake manifold with just the secret cams?
GMR has got nothing on this
.... did you look around at all? 90-94 VIN A cars... GM cars.
