I found a guy who would reprogram my PCM or w/e using Hp tuners software. I have a 2.4L cavy and would probably get him to tune it so I would run 89 octane just b/c I can get it for the same price as regular. How much hp, torque do you think I could get out of this with just an intake and a header? Or I would run a wet nitrous kit and probably no more than a 50 shot. What would be safer/ all around better way to go? The car gets winter driven too.
Thanks in advance

im confused..whats the point of the 89 octane again?
89 octane is the lowest grade you can buy anywhere that I have seen. Making any change with hp tuners and using 89 octane would defeat the purpose and could cause detonation issues. I hope whoever said they would tune this for you explains to you that the biggest gain would likely come from advancing the timing and that this will require you to run 91 or higher octane gas to prevent detonation damage that can result from advancing the timing.

FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
89 isnt the lowest , we got plenty of 87 around here
youll make the most power with the lowest octane fuel , but it all depends on how you tune it
if your gonna run nitrous then use 91 or better , and keep it rich
and why isnt this in tuning ?
We have 87 octane here as our regular, and if i went the nitrous route I would be running 91octane when I would be using the nitrous. So I thought that the timing would be advanced a bit so I wouldnt need to run premium draw back being less power. I was just wandering what would be a better way to go in terms of power/reliability, etc
