ive been thinking about designing my own custom intake manifold for my 2200 for awhile now. What are the materials that are required to do this? I am a good tig welder and i understand the fundamentals of airflow so i would have no problems designing it. Also the head has that upside down teardrop shape to it..... how would u go about matching up the intake to that port on the intake? any input is greatly is appreciated
anyone have any thoughts on this?
Well, what materials? ummm, aluminum would be a good start I suppose. One big round tube, and four smaller tubes.
Shaping the pipe? A big ol' hammer.

yes aluminum, its lightweight and easier to work with. So its gonna take a lot of hammerin. thx a lot notec ill let you know how it goes once i get some free time from work
if you figure out how to make a good one ill buy one from you unless anyone knows where to buy one for the 2.2 OHV's notec?
There is a member on here that was offering to make intake manifolds for us. He had some pictures of his and was quoting about $600-700 I think. His registry is
here. He seems to only post in a thread or two every couple months, so I'd send him an email instead of a PM. There are pictures on his web page link in his registry.
I should note for the uninformed that this is for the 94-97 2.2L, not the 98+ 2200. It includes a top-feed conversion and something like an 80mm TB IIRC.
