Well yano I wouldnt recomend boaring the block to its max. Only enough to give you a clean cylinder wall. Since you have a 97 you can tune your s-dime once you get everything together with HPT or Efi live. The most power produced by a 2.2 or 2200 that has been proven was by a member by the name of adler he made 300-305 hp on his 99 sunfire, and that was before we had the ablility to tune the ecm.

You should spend some time searching the boost forums, and maybe hptuners.com and efilive.com and reading up on the forums they offer so you can get a feel for what other people are doing to thier cars/trucks.

Headwork would be the most benifcial thing to do as they tend to hold the ohv back. If you have any more questions post up. Try searching posts made by Madjack, slowolj, and ohv notec, as they have posted up some very usefull info in the past.

300-305 horse? thats NUTS. i figured it was going to be somewhere in the 225-250 range. but 300 out of an ohv is completly insane.

Here is a list to his proformance mods, He still is # 1 on the ohv power adder list.....but I plan on beating that eventually as I am constricted by my income and budget. So I am peicing it together one thing at a time. And I goofed he put down 275 hp and 306 tq on his past dyno before parting out the sunturd.

and some of the old videos I could find from when he got the car together.

Give it a couple years, 300 will be old news.

How about $.25 for every pony I can squeeze out of 'er? Should be cheap, right? Everyone knows the OHV can't make power.

Uh, LN2 S-10s come from the factory WITH single-row aluminum radiators with plastic end-tanks. Even with the towing package. And they keep the coolant at optimum temperature with the factory fan/clutch/shroud combo. This is with a standard replacement water pump & 195F thermostat. Nor have they yet to leak or blow on a maintained system, like mine.
