having only 7k is annoying is there anyway to increase it with mods

I think 7k is even too high for a stock J engine lol. Isn't the rev limiter lower than that stock?

but that be too early fo' the VTEC to kick in yo
okay well you guys are talking about engines blowing up so let me ask this what should i do to ensure my engine can handle higher rpms get better cams?

i've had mine up to 8000 more than a few times crashing into the limiter when i was on the hahn manifold and it still hasn't blown up yet.
and my bottom end is completely stock.
7000 is not the stock limiter, thats how high your tach goes.
HPtuners.
more revs do NOT equal more power without the mods to support it.
yeh that is what the tach says but it seems to cut out around 6800rpms either way of course in 5th gear my revs dont go that high cause of the governer how the heck did you get yours to 7900rpms

the bottom end may take it but DO NOT rev that high without upgrading at least the valvesprings.
you'll float your valves and bad things will happen.
7k is ok on a stock valvetrain. anything higher isn't worth the risk.
i trust ya guys

lol someone's spend a tad bit too much time on 4chan =)
Just put your foot to the floor ya ya ya 8200 is not that high

Thats where "I" make the most power. Yes i used HP Tuners to raise my limiter. Yes your valve train is a good idea to replace, i even did it with the stock cams to be safe.

Anyone know where to get internals for a 2.2 Ecotec? I'm looking to build a sleeper 12 sec Cavalier and want it to look stock when I pop the hood.

My 97 Z rev limiter is about 7200 in 2nd gear. Found that out by accident one day. had the stereo loud on the way home from the bar. Passed a coal truck. It lurched ( like it does when you hit 109mph) looked and was at 7200 rpm.
