AEm intake

I was wondering if anyone can help. I was given a used aem cold air intake for a 2004 ecotec cavalier but am missing the rubber gasket that goes around the throttle body for the plastic pipe to connect. Contaced aem they told me to contact a distributer to order it and well my distributer out here said they couldnt get it. so i have a intake that cant be mounted to my car. any one now where to get this silly piece of rubber? It looks like the orig owner just tightned it to the throtlle body and well it dosent look the healthyist anymore.

did aem change their intakes? mine just has a rubber elbow that connects the pipe to the TB. no plastic or gaskets on mine.

I would just call another distributor. they can always ship it to you.

this is gonna sound crazy , but try a vacuum cleaner belt , or use some electrical tape

the band they use is roughly 1/16" to3/32" thick , and just there to help provide a seal , so a thick rubber band like a vacuum cleaner belt , or some tape will allow it to seal and be of use

or try gravana tuning , or turbo tech and see if they can get the part for you

I actually got a sweet chrome one for my AEM intake from auto zone. It fits perfectly, and with a little modification it can fit under your hood. You just need to use an old bike tire to wrap around your intake manifold to make it seal really well. But other than that, i havn't really had any problems.

What could possibly go wrong with a tube? just as long as it seals and does what the parts intention is, i don't see any problems.

eh autozone should sell a rubber piece that just goes around the crappy plastic looking intakes they have if u put that over your throttle body and connect the aem pipe to it with say a steel clamp or whatever that should do the job.

I have this exact piece if you still need it, from the AEM Eco CAI.

I was referring to the $30 fake chrome intake and 90 degree elbow they sell.I bought the elbow and it cracked badly in less than 6 months. It's crap plastic.
