OK so ill make this short im building an N/A motor... its a 2.4 out of a 97 Z24... The motor worked fine when i pulled it but it was at 263,000 miles. No bad wear on the inside of the engine. For pistons im going with 10.5 comp with a .020 overbore, should i get new rods to go with them?

It is not a bad idea if you have the roughly 800 dollars to blow on it. Forged pistons might be worth it to save your ass in the case that you have some detonation issues you are not aware of right away. As for the rods I highly doubt you will make enough power to break them. From what I have heard they are good up until over 230 whp at the least.

I just think if your going to stick the money in it to rebuild it you might as well do it the right way the first time. if your getting high comp pistons that already going to cost you $500 whats another $250 for rods. If it was me I would.

Just like i did on my high comp build.
