built 2.2ohv home again, finally
Tuesday, July 31, 2007 9:35 PM
Finally, after almost 9 months I picked my motor back up from the shop. I only got pics of the head as its not wrapped up so tight wth the saran wrap. Anyway here are some specs and pics.

Specs:

Cam- custom one off billet with mech roller profile

Lifters - Crower keyed mech roller

Pushrods - Mcquillen Race engines 8.1"

Valves - R.E.V. custom SS with hardened tips (46mm IN 38mm EX)

Springs - ISKY Dual LS1

Retainers - Comp Ti

Head - port and polish, o-ringed intake ports

I also picked up a new 70mm BBK TB that I had oringed for easy service.

Pics:

More to come. I plan on updating this as things come together.

Very sweet, can you elaborate more on the valve springs, and if you machined the head valve spring seats any to accept them so they wouldn't bind.

Awesome work. You've always been a forerunner in the ohv field. keep up the good work.

Im sorry guys, but I dont have any info about the spring seats. The shop basically handled that. It was all done when I first had the motor built 2-3 years ago. I could ask but Im not sure they woudl remember exactly what was done. I would assume any good shop could put a spring package together.

I think I spent 1k on the head originally. Which included the port/polish, custom valves, springs, seals, retainers etc, and any ohter maching necessary. The current springs and retainers are different, but I dont think it would have effected the price by much.

Wow... just.... wow....

I'm assuming custom turbo manifold? One question though... i see an external gate flange, but i don't see anywhere for the gate to hook back into the downpipe.... thinking of just running a divorced gate?

custom manifold - of course lol

and yes, the WG is just gonna dump. If I really hate it, I have room to tie it back in. I didnt ceramic coat the new downpipe yet on purpose until I decide if the dump is ok and that I dont have any other issues. The header is ceramic coated, and then just painted over black. I decided the siver was just too much.

That is awesome... The 2200 looks happier with a turbo strapped to it.

lol and those runners look like theyre about the size of the ones my brother has on the headers for his 3800 s/c!
I cant wait to see this beast running!

So my hylomar spray showed up today.

I got the lifters in, head on, rocker studs in, pushrods and rockers on and adjusted. Also a few other accessores and the T stat housing.

I also started cleaning up the engine compartment (from sitting for almost 2 years) and made a quick block off plate for where the a/c dryer and evap can used to be. Also got the surge tank re "anodized" and in.
