Yo guys i'm thinking about throwin in some upgraded cams in my car...well not me personally i'm a complete amatuer I don't pretend to know about cars but anyways.. I already have i/h/e upgrades in as well as a lightweight crank pulley..(2003 2.2 L eco stndrd cavi) And I want some more zip so I looked up the jbodyperformance site and see the stage 3 cams they have saying that they are ECU friendly..is this true?? also when they finally contacted me back it wasnt really with an answer to that question but they did answer my other question which was (Do I need to upgrade anything else to accomodate the claimed 19-23 whp gains?) They replied back with "you should consider upgrading valve springs. these go for 280$ usd" Is this true ?? thats some decent cash but if I am already shelling out 750 usd for the cams may as well but really guys help a new guy out plz!!

I don't wanna wreck my car

just the cams alone will not give you that gain. It needs to be tuned to work properly wiht the cams. You might not get any CEL's. Evryone here will tell you to get HP tuners.

I dont think your going to need stage 3 cams unless you can get more airflow first, like bigger TB and head work. so on top of that $1000 your gonna spend, add 500 for hp tuners $100 for a TB and 300-500 for some head work. oh and 250 for a wideband 02 sensor.
