I got the b&M shift plus and i have it all hooked up. I love the feel of it. Its definitely the best upgrade i've gotten for 50 bucks ahha. I did have a question about this item though. I have a no trac light, which i know is normal, read it on jbody forum. After driving the car i notice that the rpm's will jump when i leave off the gas(not breaking).. they quickly make there way down to 1000 and then jump inbetween 1000 to 1300 to 1000 to 1300 and then they stop after like 5 times, is that normal? Also, when i leave off the gas but do not break, i hear a small squeel, like a burning belt. The only thing itouched was the pcm when i changed the wires around, i was thinking the squeel would be the torque converter, what do you think? Oh, and i have the b&m if setting 1.
I took it for another spin, this time i had it set on option 2. I still have the squeel and the reving problem, but now i also get the check engine light. Is this normal as well ?
Also, whenever i had the B&M hooked up i had a rocky start? like the car started and the rpms would drop n it would die out. I didnt have this all the time, sometimes it would stay on but they still died. What did i do wrong?

stock....for now, no big things in mind just intake....muffler....short throw shifter...clear climates........supercharger!!!(if i ever get the money lol)
i installed the B&M shift improver yesterday as well but i have had no problems with it at all...No check engine lights and no weird rpm drops...perhaps you have the wrong red wire...i had to dig though the wires to find the right one...it was somewhere in the middle of all the wires...although now that i think about it i actually do remember a squeel at one point but have not heard it since...not sure what the squeel might be...
did you hook it up to the trans or the pcm wiring? i had it on the pcm wires i'm gonna try the trans wires like little bill said. it worked but i got a check engine light.

Why not remove it and see if its the car or the b&m shift improver? did you call B&M may be they might now whats going on? are the wires soldered? maybe a bad conection? is there any way to disconect the traction control?

if the traction control would be messed up that would pumping the brakes while your driving the smell and sqeal could be the tires fighting each other because like it said that same system is also in control of the brakes.

I have it unhooked now, and i have no check engine lights or no traction lights. When i install this do i have to cut the wires? And do i put the connecter going to the transmission plug or the wire that goes to the pcm?

As far as the squealing noise goes... what you're hearing is exactly that - the accessory belt on the engine squealing. You're shifting so hard, you're making the engine kick back hard enough when shifting to squeak the belt.
My 3 Cavaliers always did that with the Autotrans Interceptor cranked to 100% line pressure... yet with the belt off, it was dead silent
Didn't do any long-term damage to my cars... so I wouldn't worry about it.
