If you are refering to the engine one, it is to keep the oil cooler and from breaking down as fast. You might have noticed the bolt on kit we sell @ www.TurboTechRacing.com which many purcahse.

I recommend it. I noticed about a 20 degree drop (easily noticed seeing as my engine runs really hot).

Aaron, I've got an LN2, so would your company have a kit with an adaptor for my app?

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

the fittings on my sandwich adapter are 1/2 inch (-8) if im not mistaken clamp style fittings..so i ASSUME -8 or larger would be right..i got one cheap but it came with -6 so i would rather get another....anyone need a cooler?? lol

so no one makes a direct bolt on for the ECO?

i saw an adapter for the ecotec that i think would work, but its made for the machines that they use to flush the oil system, so im not sure how it would stand up under hard driving, but it does screw in and have 2 fittings on it so it looks like it would work.

I would think the one for the 2.4L would fit... As long as the 2.3L and the 2.4L use the same oil filter it will work...

It is much harder on the eco as it has an internal cased oil filter, unlike the LN2 and the LD9 which have the more "normal" oil filter.

thats the thing..the 2.4 uses a delco pf46 and the 2.3 uses a pf47, OR a pf52 which is what the LT1 uses which is why i use the 52 cus its a bigger filter, allows me to utilize more oil and a larger filter..so i ordered a LT1 sandwich adaptor but im still looking for a good cooler

Scott,

What sandwich adapter did you order and does it have an internal thermostat??? Earl's makes one, but a friend of mine couldn't get his to fit. I have the oil cooler and -10an lines, just need the adapter

Actually the LS1 and the LD9 use the same oil filter so any oil cooler kit for an LS1 should fit the LD9 and if the LGO uses the same filter as an LT1 then any oil cooler kit for an LT1 should work on the Quad4.

It all comes down to the thread size, and the diameter of the sealing O-ring; if they are the same I see no reason why it would not work.

yes it has an internal tstate..but i dont know what temp its set at ..i know it screws onto my quad just right..and i know the ld9 filter wont fit my quad..i got my adapter on ebay...it has to be the LT1 not the LS1..just look up LT1 oil cooler and youll see them..there arnt many..mine came with clamp style -8 (1/2") fittings..so i just need a good cooler to hook up to it

I would totally go with getting the oil cooler you cant lose with it...i have oil cooler and installed two twelve inch aftermarked fans, the whole setup keeps my engine cooler then ever before its great the needle never moves from regular running position.
