This might be a stupid question but I'm going to install my LO manifold in the not to distant future using my stock 2.4 throttlebody (until I can get a bigger one or bore it out a little).
I'm wondering if I'll run into any problems just using the 2 mounting bolts on the manifold (stock uses 4). Will the manifold seal to the throttlebody well enough if I just bolt it on (after modifying it to fit of course), or should I use some kind of sealer like rtv or something to make sure it doesn't leak, or can I just get a new gasket if there's one in there. If there is a gasket, do you use one for a 2.4 or 2.3?
Kinda mundane I know, but I've only pulled carbs of of v-8's, and have never pulled a throttlebody on an EFI car like mine before. Thanx.
I used RTV for a gasket. I have mine on with 2 bolts and its held through 10psi of boost, but the stock bolts won't work. What I did was went to the hardware store, found 2 bolts that would work (they were a bit bigger around than stock), drilled out the bolt holes on the stock throttle body, re-tapped the manifold so the bolts would thread in, and tightened it down. It was actually the easiest part of the swap for me...

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
Or buy a 2.3 tb gasket. That's how I did mine. As long as everything is snug, there shouldn't be any problems.
Thanx, good to know. I actually still have the 2 stock bolts in the manifold, so hopefully I can just use them. At least I think there stock, GMANZ24 would know for sure since I got the manifold from him maybee I should ask. I'll just get a 2.3 gasket.
You guys actually answered exactly what I was asking and where helpfull...thanx.
