Why again are you not supposed to cut out the little raised areas in the exhaust ports on the LN2 head? Im doing a major PNP job at school on mine and I wanted to check again.

Put something like OHV in the thread title and you're likely to get more attention from the OHV guys. There's a lot of "garbage" on these forums now.
Don't cut the vane because
1) GM said so! In the OHV build guide they actually show a ported head and say to leave the vane.
2) The vane is intended to direct exhaust flow. You'd need someone very experienced in head flow and porting imo or some type of equipment to see the flow and measure modifications, otherwise you could easily make overall performance worse.
If you simply want to experiment, maybe get 2 sets of heads, one to remove the vane and one to leave it.
