Wondering about how much it would cost to get my head worked on. I was thinking about a port and polish job along with a 3 angle valve job. Also the gold crane cams roller rockers bout how much they cost and if I did all this any idea on horse power increase.
Just questions

Kool but there's a head on ebay that's why I asked. It's had all that done on it and it has the gold crane rocker arms on it.
Was thinking about buying it and wanted to know if i should or not??

You could be making 116whp easily with that head on that powerhaus of a motah.

I think patriot makes a ohv head. if I were doing it I would just buy the head from them

unless a shop ports these heads with better numbers than those.....then I say go for that

Hey got another question. What I did was I changed out my engine and it started and ran alittle higher than idle. While it was running I found out that my fuel injector was leakiing so I fixed that. Then when trying to start it won't start. It acts like it wants to but won't fire all the way up. I sprayed some starter fluid in it and it tried but started backfiring. When it back fired it shot flames out but not from the trottle body. They came out from where I have my exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe connected. I put the flames out and tried a few minutes later and it did the same thing. Does anyone know what is wrong with my damn car???????????

I had the same problem with my Celica (i have no clue if this will help you or not...) But I had to change my injectors and it did the exact same thing. So i started reading about it and it was about the simplest thing I would never think of. Fuel pressure was reading normal but it wasn't fuel that was creating the pressure it was air. The only solution to the problem i could find was keep cranking. Took a battery and a half of cranking but fuel finaly got to the cylinders and fired away. I'm sure there is a better way of doing that, but make sure your getting gas...
Oh i'm getting gas, enough to come out my manifold where it hooks up to the exhaust. Working to day to try and fix it. Any suggestions if i don't get it fixed???

Your motor won't start because it's flooded. Pull out the plugs and suck it dry.

It starts but its dumping to much fuel. Hence why its coming out my exhaust

You could see why I'd be a little confused right now:

Is the pressure signal to your FPR hooked up after the TB and leak-free?
fortune cookie say: better a delay than a disaster
sorry bout that. Well I know that my fuel pressure regulator is hooked up at the end of the fuel rail type thing that's connected to the bottom of the intake manifold and throttle body. As far as I can tell it ain't got no leaks.

Well I took the intake and tb plenum off of the old motor and changed them out but haven't started it to see if that fixed it or not. I will be doing that tomorrow before the movie about Dale Earnhardt comes on. Will let you know if it worked or not.

Car starts and runs but has no power and if you give it throttle it wants to die if you go wide open. Any suggestions

You need to datalog??? What??? The engine had sat for awhile, was thinking of letting it idle for awhile and see what happens.
Are you talking about a diagnostic check or what??

We need to see what your ignition timing and fuel injectors are doing in order to see where the problem lies...
I believe HPT has datalogging capabilities.
This all costs money though, so if you want to avoid that, then we need a lot more info than "it wants to die at WOT" lol.]
How does it behave at other throttle positions? What temperature is the engine at? Does performance change with engine temperature? What does the exhaust smell like? What's the fuel consumption like? Are there any backfires? What happens when you suddenly let off the throttle? Does your ECU have any stored codes? How old is your O2 sensor? What base engine timing are you running?
fortune cookie say: better a delay than a disaster
Umm.....how do you tell all of that if you have only had the engine running for like 30 min. at most so far?? Seems fine except when your at wot. Don't know the temp so don't know if performance changes with it. Don't know about fuel consumption cause havn't ran but maybe 30 min.. Don't notice any backfires but when you let off of the throttle after WOT it seems like it's dead but kicks back in and starts to idle again. How do you check your ECU? Don't know how old O2 sensor is and don't know what the base engine timing is, remember I just put this engine in out of another cavalier and started it.
Sorry if tihis don't help you.
