So everyone is familar this is the header that goes up then comes down. I have it bolted to the head just fine and welded to the rest of the factory exhaust without an issue.
Issue #1 I can not see any possible way that the coolant tube that runs behind the engine will fit without cutting off the bracket that is welded on so it can be bolted to the exhaust stud. Even if I cut it off I do not know if it will fit without bending it. Also I do not know if it will make it more prone to leak at the water neck if I have to cut off the bracket and therefore can't bolt it down.
Issue #2 I do not think the cruise control will bolt on without being relocated. I do have the cruise control relocation bracket that comes with the GM supercharger and hopefully this will be what I need to remedy this issue. I do not have it here at home for me to try it out now. I would rather remove that header and buy another then remove my cruise control.
Does anyone know if I am going to have issues from the heat on the dipstick, hood or cruise control? Are my engine bay temps going to go way up? I am kind of regretting buying the header and really regretting paying to have it welded to the downpipe. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated.

I am going to cut off the bracket that is attached to the coolant tube right now. Hopefully this will fix that problem but I do not know if it not being supported will make it more prone to leaking at the water neck.

In November I will have had the RKS header for a year and i have had no problems.
1. I had to cut off the bracket. Just bend it a little and you'll be set.
Here are some pics.
2. Let me say you may have to relocate it. I have the header & the GM brace and there is no way around it for me. I had to go to the junk yard and pick up a CC bracket (for me a 1995 MonteCarlo), got some long SS bolts and I connected it to a hole on the tranny case. All is working fine now.
As for heat issue on the dipstick. None here. As heat any where else, I added heat shield on the firewall and a little strip on the hood (I have the fiberglass hood insulator too), just for pre-caution. I have the header jacket that controls temps tremendously, any header will radiate hotter then the Iron exhaust manifold. These jackets work.

To move it to the strut tower I would need a bracket from a jbody with an ecotec correct?

Thanks for the info I just read that thread. It appears that the ecotec bracket that mounts to the strut tower will not fit with a 2.4 as shown in the pictures.
I was worried about if the cc cable would reach anywy with the GM supercharger on there. Just a litle FYI I am using the MOMO strut tower brace. Here is a pic of it.
Mr good wrench if you could get some pics of where you mounted the cruise control to the trans at and some more pics of the area where the coolant tube is at that would be great. Thanks so much for your help so far.

i didnt have any issues like that with my pacesetter
We mounted it using one bolt, not two. Mount it off the other strut tower, by the fuse box......but your clutch fluid might be in the way.

Just so you know that is not the L61 CC mount, that is the LN2 CC bracket.^^^
This is the L61 mount. (scroll up) I had it and sold it, because it would not fit for me, I think the cable interfered on the engine.
Also did you check on page-2 on the link i gave ya, there are 3 pics my CC? But if ya want I'll get ya more and with it the coolant line as well.

I thought I read that they were the same. Maybe I misread something. Yes I did see those 3 pics but they are kind of dark aswell so it is hard to make out what is what. Those pics under better lighting conditions is exactly what I need.
Here is what has me confused. They must have made 2 different 2200 cruise control brackets. Wasn't the one above that did not fit from a 2200?

Thanks for all your help. The last thing I need to know is is the heat from the header going to cause any problems if I do not wrap it and the surrounding parts?

OK so I forgot that there are actually two bolts that hold the coolant tube to the engine.
This is the one I was forgetting about. With this bolt in the tube is not going to come loose and leak at the water neck so that is no longer an issue.
I did cut off the tab where it bolts to the exhaust stud. Then I stuck it straight through like you were to shoot an arrow throughthe header.
Now the only thing is I am wondering is if the coolant line is too close to the header. It is painted with 500 degree engine paint so how well the paint holds up should be an indicator of how hot it gets. I still need to do something about the brake booster vaccum line. But that is no biggie.

I have decided that this 4-2-1 is only temporary. If someone would like to sell me a header let me know.

I did it for precaution, I would do this with any header and more so if you're boosted. Header(s) give off tremendous heat and since heat goes up, I wanted the surrounding areas protected from drying and cracking.
I have not had any leaks. Honestly, I don't think that coolant line through the header is a good idea.

Well I kind of decided to get rid of it almost before I even made this post. However I need to make it work for about a month until I get another header. Maybe driving it will change my mind. We will see.
