Okay now ive searched extensivly in the fourms here and other places about my wonderfull quad 4 and have learned so much but befor i spend lots of my hard earned money i want to know for sure and have my research varified.
I have a 1995 z24 with a 2.3 quad 4. Now im in the procces of getting a new engine. I found a 1994 2.3 vin A HO as im told it is. Now id like to install this engine in my car. From my research ive found that the computor in my car should work and my manifolds should fit although i would like to update them anyway. From what ive read my auto tranny should bolt up and it will all bolt dirrectly onto my existing mounts.
Am i close in my research is there anything im missing or havent taken into consideration any advise help would be greatly appreciated
IMO the swap isn't worth the time or money if your going to swap in an HO to an auto tranny.

All stock...........lol.
The HO swap is easier for the 95 manual owners. It will physically bolt-up, but your computer won't be much use more than for idling and low rpm, since you don't have the right fuel/spark tables for that motor. I don't know if you can get chips burned for the 95 autos since they aren't exactly OBD-I. I don't think they are exactly OBD-II either, but even if it was, there wouldn't be software for a J-body with a 2.3L. So unless you are swapping to a manual trans and/or running a standalone ECM, I forsee headaches in your future.
