I have a 07 ecotec engine complete from an ion, but no computer or wiring harness, i would like to swap it into one of my cavalier stock cars for use in the dohc classes.but they are not set up for this engine. is there an aftermarket computer & harness avail or a donor vehicle that I could use with out all the stupid security stuff or a way to by pass it.
thanks george.
i believe some of the security features, maybe all, can be removed with HPtuners.
take a look in the tuning forum, i think its been discussed before.

07 2.2 ecos Won't work hpt....and they have the 56 tooth reluctor wheel also I believe so...your better off with an older eco from an actual j-body.
ya i keep forgetting only new ecos supported are the 2.0 and the 2.4, not the 2.2

you can use an Eco out of the '03 and '04 Ions/Cobalts. I'm using the Eco from an '03 Ion in my '02 Cav.
anything newer will have the 58x reluctor wheel, which is completely incompatible with the j-body PCM.

yea i meant 58* and actually a full run down of cars are
any jbody
03- 04 ions
02 to 04 grand ams and malibus and whatever else had an eco in those years

stay 2005 or older and you're golden.
if you're looking to do an outright swap, be sure to get your hands on an eco that was in a jbody.. the other engines have slightly different pans/brackets and other misc. parts.
once you get the eco in your car, you can use any eco engine you can find so long as its 2002-2005
