alright guys i need all your input i am going to be doing my motor up this winter i already bought secret cam swap and i cometic head gasket, head studs. gonna port and polish the head, and i plan on super charging you guys think i should get oversized valves , guides, and do pistons and rods? i need some input from everyone on what i should go with? think with a gm superchrger ported head and valves i would need to lower compression

the gm charger is made to run on a stock engine and from what I have read about the charger you would be hard pressed to make enough power to need new pistons. But this should really be in the boost forum.

I would definitely go with bigger valves and new guides. Doing pistons and rods cant hurt but I dont know if it would be completely necesary. The supercharger kit for the 2.4 is not the most agressive setup in the world and designed for a stock motor with stock compression but most would say build it right the first time. If you build it with better rods and pistons then you wont have any doubt in your mind that it will stay together.

If you going to stay supercharged. There is no real need for pistons and rods. More air flow always helps...though.

If i was you id up the compression slightly and run blower cams instead of n/a cams. If your going to pu tin forged stuff might as well mke it worth it..

Instead of going with a cometic head gasket I'd go with a copper head gasket. I've read they transfer heat better and being thinner they up your compression a bit. Also import performance has a nice engine kit http://www.importperformanceparts.net/

do you guys think if i did the jbp stage two cams it would mess up going with the gm super charger?
