Hello all, this is my first post and probally most important. I am looking at a 1988 Sunbird GT Turbo convertable to buy. It is an automatic and I need to decide if I want to purchase it for a second vehicle. Im looking for something to upgrade to gain enough power to be impressive on the street. Before making the purchase I just wanted to verify that there are ways to make this car much faster and performance parts are still available. Could anyone with knowledge of these cars please chime in and mention any vendors or companines that cater to these cars or give examples of members cars that have been modified with success... Im hopeful to buy this car and appreciate any info provided.

If I remember right..... whern't Sunbird GT's the fastest J's made anyway?

There are ways to make this car quick, but keep in mind aftermarket performance parts were never available for the Sunbird. You'll have to get creative if you want more go power.
