my name is mario i drive a 2001 sunfire with a 2200
car runs amazing but only have one problem i have an air to fuel gauge hooked up in my car its wired straight to the sensor on the exhaust manifold problem is its reading very lean on the gauge.
i have some performance done to my car
3inch custom cat back system
and a short arm intake.
n-e ideas y i might be running so lean
narrow bands are alwasy off by a good sum.. If it were a wideband reading that then I would be a little more worried.

I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
is the gauge always showing lean?? if so , its more likely that its hooked up wrong or bad connection.
i know narrow bands are off b y a bit n-e ways i can make it a wide bank.....i know the connection is on b/c the gauge moves up and i rip the car .
ok 3 inch exhaust on a stock 2200 is solid gold. hahahahahahah.
ANYWAY....
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Ahh Give him credit it seems like he is atleast trying to speak good english. Are you going to turbo your car right away? If not there is really no need for a wideband or narrowband gauge. 3inch exhaust is way too big for an natually aspirated 2200.

FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
ditch the narrow band gauge , and get a real wide band gauge
tell then you can not trust what the narrow gauge is giving you for readings

When you first start the car, it should stay on the lean side since the sensor isn't warmed up. As it warms up it should read higher and higher. Eventually the gauge should start to move back and forth and switch between rich and lean as you're driving. When you go past 80% throttle it should be staying on the rich side.
How lean does it show? Can you get a pic, or maybe a video clip of it? I'm going to second the motion that it might not be hooked up right. Possibly a bad ground.
