Form what I've gathered from others before you: Yes. Use search and find out more (Nubie).

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

Besides the engine, transmission, wiring harness and computer, i dont think there is anything more to it. Just remove, replace connect, enjoy. If only everything was that easy, im sure it wont be as easy as that, but its the easiest swap for you. You can use the same motor mounts and everything. Shouldnt be too hard if you know what you're doing and have the right tools.

yes i've done this swap multiple times, and even the other way around (swapping 2200's in 2.4 cars). u'll just need the 2.4, 5 spd from a 2.4, ecm, engine harness, and ps lines, heater core hoses, coolant hoses, etc. very easy swap.

Geez, with all these LN2s being swapped-out I could start a small collection of spares for performance prep (It has been done, again & again with guidelines and success. Just ask Jack!).

Go beyond the "bolt-on".

sorry u'll need upper mount too and the engine side fuel lines. lower mount is same in all J's. and as long as your swapping with same kind of transmission you already have, u can re-use your current axles. if you're going from an auto to a 5 spd, that's more work. basically if u can get to a donor car, just pull the motor, and leave upper mount, engine harness, ecm, and lines attached. and you'll be good to go.

I'm pretty sure there's no fewer parts or less work to swap an LD9 than there is an eco. For both swaps you need an engine with accessories, trans, upper motor mount, various hoses/lines, wiring harness, and ecu. And frankly, the eco (for the moment) has a wider parts availability. Of course you could save yourself a lot of money and time and just turbo the OHV, but hey, jump on the eco or 2.4 bandwagon all you want if it makes you feel like more of a man...

swapping to a LD9 for a pre-99 is a hella lot easier than the eco swap. you would be correct if you are referring to swapping a LD9/Eco in a 2000+ tho.
