ok so im wanting to re-do my catback setup on my car. few things that im wanting and will not compromise are:

will be 3". will be polished 304 stainless steel mandrel bent piping. will have a resonator.

This is the muffler im going with.

now, ive been trying to locate the exact piping and bends i want but am having difficulty, there are a few places ive found that have the 3" 304 SS but not polished for pretty cheap and have found a place on Ebay that has everything my heart could desire (yes polished) but they're located in austraila so the shipping is quite outrageous. another option to would be to buy the non-polished stuff and have it polished locally but id rather not have to bother. i know the stuff is out there but im having trouble locating it, any help would be appreciated.

now here is the resonator im looking at, as it fits my demands. but the thing is im not to knowledgeable when it comes to these things as ive never dealt with them before. its a 12" long one, will it even help being so short? id also prefer a magnaflow resonator but im having much difficulty finding any of them as well.

so i guess i need help on deciding on what resonator to go with and where to get the piping. also...car will be turboed in the future as to why the large size.

Get the set up from custom tubes inc.
I think they have 304 stianless now, and I remember they made a 3" for some one before.

well the reason i want to go custom is because as you know the tie bar that YOU sold me hits the exhaust in the back. so i want to try and make a special bend right there where it hits to solve the problem.

also, that magnaflow res. you pointed out to me mastin, how long is it? i really like the shorty style ones but am worried about the loudness, but i also have to think about the space i have, which isnt a whole hell of a lot after the cat and before the axel. i should get under there and measure....

hmmm i have no idea, never read anything about that....

i have a street series muffler very similar to it with a header and full exhaust w/o a resonator and its pretty loud/obnoxious, so im assuming its prolly louder than that. im hoping to kill the sound with the resonator and then, eventually the turbo.

the only reason im going with a race series is because the street series does not come in a 3", only 2.5".

IIRC they used to be even cheaper. I got a scandalous deal on a 53035 cat about a year ago, cheaper than the $73.10 they're asking now. Still good prices now though.

Yeah, I remember.

That's why I was saying to have "The Madness" hook it up.
The way the pipes sit now, they run high off the axle and straight back.
No tie bar hitting problems all at 2.5" piping.
So a 3" deal should be cool.

yup, me and 'the madness' boy are gonna be fabbing it all up. im done dealing with exhaust shops who argue about every little thing and try to tell you dont know wtf your talking about.

dont you also have in-fact 2 tie bar's identical to mine stacked on top of each other? doesnt that give you even less room for clearance? if so and it still fits then im glad to know its possible to get everything to fit well back there. i had to take the bar off due to being to loud when it banged on the pipe, but loved the feel it helped to provide and hated having to take it off.

Yup, I have two bars back there with no problems.
And the bars actually may be sitting a tad higher than the RK sfb I have on the front.
I've had more issue with that thing and speed bumps than anything in the rear.

But I want to get a TTR K-brace on there.
Being an auto, it should be fun times.

But its all gonna come off so I can put on the Helwig 1" bar I got from Mr Goodwrench (waited for years for it lol)


Then you're really gonna see some overkill bracing madness.


My plans are to brick up the car as best I can.
Using techniques like
1)Misnblu anti roll cage for the trunk
2)rear mock K brace like another member on here done on his 2.3 I think (sorry I forget who you are at the moment)
3)TTR K brace in the front,
4)Caddy engine support braces to mount from the strut tower to the front frame
5) TTR rear axble bushings if they get made.
6) Rear seat floor bar (to anny my back seat passengers)
and..............................
7) COILOVER SUSPENSION!!!! (yes installed for rear this time) leaning toward the KWs but I'm finda noticing a potential rear mount and warranty issue...bleh

Oh, and maybe shrink my exhaust back down to 2.25 inner. Even though I got the good dyno numbers.

True that!

My next exhaust if it doesn't come from TTR will be all custom cut. I plan on just taping it up under the car to mock everything up, making the cuts, then mark all the points with a sharpy and taking it to the trusty old welder down the street who will do everything for 50 bucks.
