IDI Cover...

Is it possible to drive without the IDI cover on?? I am looking at getting mine powder coated however I cannot find a spare one for cheap in my area... If I removed the ignition module... and left it plugged in would it affect anything??? does it hold the coil packs in place?

there is a ground strap underneath the cover that is held on by one of the module bolts that goes into the cover.

it might possibly work if you can somehow ground that strap. i wouldn't recommend it though.

Wanting a nice set of black 17's with mint tires? Pm me.

no!!!!! the bolts holding the idi cover down are what holds the actual ignition to the motor. so if you remove the idi cover, you will have no place to mount the icm. but more importantly there is nothing holding the ignition to the car. if it will start at all, it will run very badly, and all it takes is one bump. and your stuck. not to mention any damage to the idi system will cost you upwards of $200 to replace the ignition coil set up.
