75mm Throttle body (yes I searched)
Sunday, March 02, 2008 9:15 AM
Hey all,

Im trying to figure out which years of camaro/firebird throttle bodies are cable actuated?
Im looking for what years of Ls1 TB would be most compatible with our platforms. I want to avoid the drive by wire ones.

Anyone know?

I have a LS1 tb off of a 99 camaro on my car. works great! I believe it was only in 2002 that they had the drive by wire on them in the camaros.

so wouldnt it save us a ton of money to get a Ls1 TB instead of having ours bored out?

No....it isnt a bolt on mod persay...mine is attached to a custom sheet metal intake mani...also it would make for a dead low end if you dont have suporting mods..ie turbo

You've heard of the Kinsler manifold right? When I first saw it I thought of you but noticed I hadn't seen you post lately.

Just curious.

75mm on the stock intake manifold for an eco won't work... there's no way to get it to mate up with the mouth of the manifold without seriously stepping it down in diameter... which would completely defeat the purpose of a larger throttle body.

kinsler ftw ordering my setup very soon

04 and older LSx motors , vettes are all drive by wire , and some trucks used drive by wire

i think the 4.3 V6 used a 70mm tb

I was thinking about it but I already designed my own manifold.... just need time to weld it up, so im going to give that a try first. Ive been pretty busy so no progress to post

I disagree.

Yup. All the 4.3 vortecs are 70mm as far as I know. I may buy an ls1 (75mm) and a Vortec 4.3 (70mm) and see which gives the better results. Ive heard the flange is similar.
