10 flat @ 140mph
Sunday, March 02, 2008 7:23 PM

Sorry is this is in the wrong section i did not know where to post.

So on another forum this guy is saying he has a 2004 cavalier with eco bored to 3.0

here is his modlist

i dont have it any more but,
04 cavalier
2.2 ecotec custom bored and stroked to 3.0
fullrace stage 3 head package and exhaust package
fullrace custom turbo with a t66 twin scroll
je pistons
eagle rods
fluidyne harmonic balancer
full msd 6al ignition, blaster coil and wires
nkg iridium plugs
2003 chevy impala transmission with GM adapter plate
driveshaft shop stage 4 axles
baer big brake kit front and back
zex 150hp shot
custom motor mount inserts by high class motorsports in florida.
when it was all motor the fastest i ever did was a 13.5 @ 121
with turbo and new tranny i got a 10 flat @ 140 with no traction till 4th gear. even with some dunlop slicks. held the record for the states fastest Jbody for 3 years in florida and 1 year in ohio.

ME: pics?

HIM:photobucket harleyreinke
my avatar is after i painted it right before i sold it last year.
full trd kit right off of a toyota cavalier. and fully converted to a 99 toyota cavalier

ME:photo bucket is private post some pics or pm them to me

HIM: niania is password
there are not lot there though. i have some in my office. we just moved in last year and i am still trying to find them
at the time there were. no one was building cavaliers when i raced mine. i was under contract from a few different companies and could not show it or talk about the projects. it was hard keeping it from my wife. she flipped out one day and said "what is the big deal its a cavalier". she took the keys when i was at work and drove it to the store for some smokes. i ended up loosing my contract with Racier at fullrace over it when he found out. thats why when i do builds i always throw out like 3 or 4 ideas and dont show or tell anyone what i have decided on until it is done and ready to go.

ME:at the time?

few problems i see with this

you car has the 2.4 twin cam out of a z24
2004 did not offer a 2.4 only 2.2 ecotec (no one in there right mind would swap to a ld9)
you have one thumbnail size picture in your photobucket

So why after spending so much money on machining would you ditch your ecotec (that you just talked trash about) for a ld9?

So i get the feeling he is bull@!#$tin me any one know this guy?

him:no i found out about it after i sold the car. once i find all the pics of the build i plan on doing a post here and on jbody. there are alot of people that want to know how i did the right hand drive conversion. it was a pain in the ass but well worth it.

sorry he wont stop posting

HIM: once i build the eco for boost i could only get like 20 psi out of it with out more work. i had already at that point used all my resources and full race along with a few other companies wanted to explore a different route with my car. i had no choice in the matter. they took my car and rebuilt the motor for me in about 6 monthes. when it came back it was faster and made more power but with less problems. the ecotecs have alot of little problems with them. the heads HAVE to be o ringed for a great seal. the ld you can use some silicon and sewing thread to do this. and the block on the ld can handle about 600 degrees more heat. which was a major plus for me because when i had the car i lived in florida. i reall liked the sound of the ld better. to me it sounded like a old 283. the ecotec sounded like a throaty honda. it was fast as all hell but the tranny i had to use to handle the power i was putting down with the ecotec was a automatic and i wanted a 5-speed. so when they told me they would do a 5-speed conversion for me i was a little happier

13.5@121? 121!?! for a n/a ecotec? hahaha. That just stood out to me.

Also, the MSD 6al won't work with the Ecotec.

haha...well the funny part about the RHD conversion...it's mostly BOLT-UP. Only custom work is the firewall work (minor welding no big deal) and adjusting the brakes to work from the opposite side of the car

yea...............I dont know much about motor work and even i caught this. But this is also the same guy that told me that the cobalt is just a cavalier with a facelift and that i could swap a cobalt front onto my cav with only a screwdriver.

You should have told him, "that's nothing man, I took my dad's john deer lawn mower and had it Destroked, bored, turbo'd, with a 200 shot of N2O and run a 9.7 @ 147mph." Had to put 10 inch wheel-barrow slicks on the back and traction bars from a Mopad. LMAO!!

ok lets start on this theres no way an eco can be bored to more than 87mm to start with even using the darton sleves unless theres a piece of paper between cylinders, so im going to have to call BS on the displacement

Fullrace does not make kits for our cars

A T66 might start making boost at 7k

MSD 6AL is not for this engine and would not work anyway

13.5@121 all motor?/ BWAHAAHAHAHAHA by that mph they should be running 11s

I didnt know there was state records for j-body speed

What a tool. Sounds like a cross between too much F&F, and too much Gran Turismo. Btw, if this is in a thread on this other forum, can we have the link? I'd love to read this in it's original form.

Transmissions aren't rated at hp. Their stresses are based on torque...And I can assure you the 4t65e (and especially the 4t65e HD) can take WELL OVER 300 ft-lbs stock. They are also rated to a particular RPM (so, I guess you COULD say they have a max hp), and either trans can spin 7K just fine which means at a minimum...

300 ft-lbs * 7000/5252 ~ 400 HP

Also, FYI -- Most if not all of the top ECO FWD drag engines are mated to 4t65e HD transmissions.

However, I don't know if the person in question does in fact have said mods, or is just looking for attention.......nor do I care.
