I know this isn't a performance question, but can I take the manifold off a 2200, and install it onto my 2.2 ohv?
No. Im pretty sure the ports are different shapes, and they line up differently. Hey, Michael, do you still have the seats from the sunfire? Are they the same as a 96? Are they in good shape?

you can, but the alignment is slightly slightly different. do a search in the archives for headers of the older 2.2 and 2200's, there some pics and talk about it there. in a nutshell it was slightly off, but the header openings are oversized to allow for negative exhaust pulse so the headers for the older 95-97 designs fit the 2200's....
if you're doing it for a performance thing, check into it... if you just wanna replace or sell, no need.
i used a header from a 97 on my 98 2.2ohv 2 a 2200 worked fine no exhaust leak

notice i said the header is oversized already

if its an exhaust manifold he is asking about, which is normally stock parts, the alignment issue could affect it slightly because the openings to the runners are not as large with a header. but not enough to where it would hurt much if at all...
like said, do a search for OBX headers and fitment issues.
also i re-reading his question, if he means the INTAKE manifold, the answer is no unless you do some major mods...
I read it as intake, but when i saw your response, i realized it could be either.
i wish the Ny-J-bodies site was still up.... if i can find the pics to this, i'll load it up on my page in the 2.2/2200 section. there was a SHHHHHH-Load of info you all could have used from back in the day on this site....

The exhaust ports on the 1998-99 heads are noticeably smaller than they were on the earlier heads.

The intake ports were squared off and came to more of a point (left) beginning in 1998.
1998-99: There were several major changes made to the head in 1998. The combustion chambers were heart-shaped, the intake ports were squared-off and came to more of a point at the top, the exhaust ports were noticeably smaller (1.120") and the rocker pedestals were notched to hold the roller rockers in place. The crossover passage in the front was eliminated, and the EGR passage was revamped. Its an all new casting (c/n 24575507) that was used up through 1999.

I want to take the exhaust manifold from my 2200 and put it onto my 2.2 ohv, NOT for performance reasons.

well it will be a slight difference, but it shouldnt be much.... as posted above as a quote from the LN2 history page, the exhaust ports on the 2200s were smaller.

It's going to choke it, just splurge for a 95-97 manifold, it won't cost more than $10 from a 'yard.
