when i sit my car in neutral when started it sometimes makes a squeaking noise, my guess is its a belt im just not sure which. if you have any idea of which belt it may be and how much they generally cost to replace that would be pimpin. thanks

Um it could be a belt. Its really one of those you got to be there to really diagnose it sort of deals. Does it only do it when you start it or does it sometimes occur also during take of or lower rpms?

My 2.4L was just doing this.... as soon as I accelerated a bit the noise would go away.... it came down to two things

1. You need a new serpentine belt (cost $22 cad for a good year poly-v gatorback)

2. You need a new tensioner

How I diagnosed mine was I hit he serpentine belt with a bit of silicon spray (wd-40 will work) and it stopped making the noise... switched out the belt and its been nice and quiet every since... if you hit the belt with spray and its still making noise i would switch out the tensioner and belt.... (not sure how much a tensioner would cost but i would guess 20-30)

Check to make sure its not something as simple as like your alternator being loose. I know that will make it squeak as well.
