better watch ur TTR upper mount

performance wise, the mount is great. i think they sacrificed a bit on the quality of coating the item.....

mount hasnt even been on the car 8 months, i did buy it way back in the gp but my car was down for a 5 speed swap and i had another car to daily drive. just if u buy this mount make sure you watch the "quality" of the powder coating over time, cuz their paint warrenty is 1yr.

the paint started to spiderweb month one, but i just thought that was the end of it.... on to the carnage.

im scared to even try and clean it, more paint will be gone good luck, ttr quoted me 40 bucks to fix this issue lol im not goin round 2 with this and have it happen again

Looks like a bad powdercoat job. I suggest talking to the guy whose doing powdercoating in the exterior forum and see how much he would charge to powdercoat it.

huh? i really cant believe that arron would want to re-charge you to coat that thing again, seems kinda shotty to me. just doesnt sound like TTR... even IF it on had the 1 year warranty...

when i got mine it had already gotten chipped during shipping and i wasnt very impressed with that, and i know of a few others that had the same issue. powdercoating really isnt supposed to chip at all, maybe TTR needs to think about using a different powdercoating company...

Wanting a nice set of black 17's with mint tires? Pm me.

this was like this before winter, like i said it has been spidered since month one, i just didnt know what i could do, only reason there is salt on there is cuz im scared to even attempt to clean it cuz its just gonna look worse with less paint.

I've had mine for a long time now and has been in and out of the car, endured all type of debris from coolant and oil and doesn't even look remotely like that bro.....either a fluke or someone left their mount out in the rain

no i had the mount sitting pretty in my room with my rims and another cf hood and plenty other car parts just awaiting when the car was finished with the 5 speed swap, and turbo that went on and off.

pic during the 5 speed swap and when the turbo was goin on but didnt stay on, see no ttr mount in there, i had it but it was in my room

The way it should be handled is that you get a new mount, not just free coatting. I'm sure for them its way easier to just drop you a new one in the mail and then have you send yours back to them once you get the new one. Besides, now you have to put a stock part (if you still even have it) back onto your car so you can get another perhaps shady power coat job on that one. I realize that bites in to profit, but the way that thing looks really degrades their product.

I'm not too impressed by this story... doesn't even sound like it was powder coated... paint warranty?

edit again - new bushing in the price as well makes that a lot better sounding. It should still be a free deal though.

My chrome powdercoat flaked off even before I got the darn thing on the car I talked to TTR about it and I just decided to re-paint mine myself.. I didnt want to take the time to ship mine back.. Sooo, yea I think they kinda slacked in the powdercoating dept unfortunately.

its not a good thing to see but if paint is the worst thing we have to complain about with the product, i don't think thats so bad.

Mine is chipping too. It looks to me like the metal wasn't prepped properly.
I do my own powdercoating, so it will be re-done.

we are communicating, I told him I can Media blast that thing cleand and get it back to tip top shape with not problem. Powder coat it nice for him, I dont beleive that they powder coated it at all. Maybe a cheap Spray bomb job but thats about it, I'll know more when He sends it over. I post back with what I find out when I recieve it, and ofcourse a pic of the freshly powdercoated piece.

I LOVE my mount but mine also chipped before installing it in the car. Makes me wonder if it was even powdercoated or just painted???

Powder coat shouldn't look like that at all. Doesn't even look powder coated to me. Either that or as others have said, an extremely bad job of prepping the metal was done.

In the description on the website I could have sworn it said that it was powder paint.. I am assuming that it's not the same as powder coating but have never heard of that before either.
